20th International PhD Student Cancer Conference

Conference

Since 2007, the IPSCC has brought PhD students together from leading cancer research institutes across Europe.

Its scope runs the full spectrum of cancer research, from basic and translational science through to clinical and epidemiological work, on the principle that every part of that spectrum helps us understand the disease and improve treatment for patients.

The conference is organised by students, for students: every talk, poster, and workshop comes from a researcher still doing their PhD. It is a joint meeting for PhD students from these participating institutes:

Professor Victoria Sanz-Moreno

Professor Victoria Sanz-Moreno

The Institute of Cancer Research

Talk title to be announced

Professor Victoria Sanz-Moreno is a Professor of Cancer Cell and Metastasis Biology at The Institute of Cancer Research, London, where she leads the Cytoskeleton and Metastasis Laboratory. Her research focuses on the cellular mechanisms that drive cancer invasion, metastasis, and resistance to therapy. Her work combines fundamental cell biology with translational cancer research, aiming to identify new therapeutic approaches to prevent and treat metastatic disease.

The Venue

The Francis Crick Institute

The Crick is one of Europe's largest biomedical research institutes under a single roof. It is home to around 1,500 scientists working from fundamental discovery through to the clinic, in a purpose-built home beside King's Cross and St Pancras.

In 2027, the conference is hosted in partnership with the Cancer Research UK City of London Centre - a collaboration between The Francis Crick Institute, University College London, Queen Mary University of London - Barts Cancer Institute, and King's College London, focused on hard-to-treat cancers.
